Art Time Presents: Picture Day!

For our first Picture Day photography collaboration, Art Time Presents: Nashville photographer Emily April Allen (IG: @emdashphotos) for a day of Pay-What-You-Can private photo sessions with our community.

Emily is passionate about expanding the visibility LGBTQ+ individuals and contributing to imagery that showcases the powerful beauty of inner-strength, personal style, and anything that makes people who they are. As a queer photographer whose main focus is shooting portraits of LGBTQ+ identified individuals, as well as events in queer spaces, Emily’s partnership aligns perfectly with ATP’s mission to serve womxn, non-binary, trans, and gender non-conforming artists in Los Angeles.

We want to give folks in our community the opportunity to get photos of themselves as they are! So many photos taken in our lives don’t really represent us, or we feel like we have to be a certain way while taking them. We want to lift that veil and take this opportunity to get portraits of our authentic selves. Whether you want a portrait, traditional headshots, or something a little more intimate - this is your place to do that at a reasonable price. Participants will be able to connect with Emily in advance to go over some of these expectations and make sure you’re completely prepared for the session.

To ensure a quality photo session, each participant will spend 45 minutes in session with Emily. Participants may pose for photos as an individual or in small groups. All sessions are the same length regardless of how many folks are participating in the group. Due to the limited number of sessions, participants for this event should fit into our target community of womxn, non-binary, transgender, and gender non-conformng artists. If you aren’t sure, feel free to enter anyway!

All participants will be randomly selected, though with a guaranteed percentage of subjects identifying as non-binary, trans, or gender non-conforming selected. The session cost is Pay What You Can and proceeds will be split between Emily April Allen and Art Time Presents, with a suggested donation of $50. There will be an in-person Wait List in case of cancellations.

There will be some Art Time crafts for those that do not want to get photos but still want to hang out! Waiting List folks are of course welcome to hang, do crafts and eat snacks!
